On February 20, international news outlets reported that Lucid Motors, a rising star in the American automotive scene, has declared its intention to reduce its domestic workforce by roughly 12% in a bid to bolster profitability. This move represents yet another strategic shift, following the 6% workforce reduction implemented in May 2024. Presently, Lucid boasts a global employee base of approximately 6,800 individuals. Notably, this latest round of layoffs will spare hourly workers employed in manufacturing, logistics, and quality assurance sectors. Looking ahead, the company has outlined plans to introduce new vehicle models and make forays into the autonomous taxi market.
