The investigation into the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra traffic accident that took place earlier on Chengdu's Tianfu Avenue has reached its conclusion regarding liability, with the driver, identified by the surname Deng, being deemed entirely responsible. On the morning of October 13, 2025, at 3:18 a.m., Deng, a 31-year-old individual, was traveling southward along Tianfu Avenue. Upon reaching the southern section at the intersection with Tianfu 5th Street, his vehicle collided with a car driven by Li, which was ahead of him. Subsequently, Deng's vehicle crossed the central median and erupted into flames. The collision tragically resulted in Deng's death and caused damage to both vehicles involved.
Tests conducted following the accident disclosed that Deng's vehicle was traveling at a speed exceeding 200km/h just three seconds prior to the collision and maintained a speed of over 160km/h at the moment of impact. These speeds significantly surpassed the posted speed limit for that particular road segment. Additionally, Deng was suspected of operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
