While there's no definitive timeline for the comprehensive launch of FSD in China, Tesla Shanghai has already initiated the recruitment process for intelligent driving test engineers, laying the groundwork for the localization of FSD. This position is integral to the autonomous driving team and involves close collaboration with the AI and vehicle firmware teams. Responsibilities include participating in the closed-loop iteration of FSD algorithms, establishing a localized evaluation system, and testing regulatory and rating protocols. Furthermore, Tesla has already set up a data center and an AI training center in China, creating a complete closed-loop system that awaits only regulatory clearance. Previously, Tesla has also sought candidates for roles such as intelligent driving functional safety testers to bolster its FSD talent pool.
