Recently, a wave of closures has swept through FAW-Audi dealerships in various regions nationwide, encompassing Guangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Tianjin, and several other provinces and municipalities. This has left car owners in a predicament, as the maintenance packages they had previously purchased are now facing challenges in terms of continuity, and safeguarding their rights and interests has become an arduous task.
Take, for example, the case of a car owner in Changzhou, Jiangsu. This individual had invested 3,000 yuan in a 'buy three, get three free' maintenance package. However, following the store's closure, the new operator has imposed additional fees for each maintenance service, effectively nullifying the perceived value of the original package.
When contacted, FAW-Audi's customer service explained that issues related to non-official maintenance rights can only be addressed by reaching out to the store directly. In contrast, official maintenance rights can be transferred to other authorized dealerships, though this offers little consolation to those affected by the closures.
The root cause of these closures can be traced back to mounting market sales pressure and operational difficulties at the terminal level. Notably, Audi's sales in China witnessed a 5% year-on-year decline in 2025, further underscoring the challenges faced by the brand in this key market.
