Alphabet's self-driving taxi company Waymo announced on Thursday that it has deployed its sixth-generation autonomous driving system on the Ojai model, built on Geely's platform, and is initially offering the service to company employees. The sixth-generation system utilizes low-cost components, enhances environmental perception capabilities, and better handles adverse weather conditions. The Ojai model's design optimizes passenger experience, featuring a square body, low boarding threshold, and spacious interior. Waymo plans to expand its services to more cities later this year and eventually open them to the public.
