On February 12, during a technical exchange event at Volkswagen Group's global headquarters in Germany, Joyson CES, a subsidiary of Joyson Electronics, joined forces with Zhongji Innolight to introduce an innovative in-vehicle optical communication solution. Capitalizing on the unique advantages of optical communication—such as its immunity to interference, ultra-low latency at the microsecond level, and expansive bandwidth capabilities—this solution is designed to support high-speed data transmission protocols, including DisplayPort (DP), Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI), and Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe). These features facilitate the establishment of a high-speed fiber-optic ring network connecting central domains with regional controllers within vehicles.

Its primary applications encompass 8-megapixel and 17-megapixel high-definition cameras, capable of transmitting data over distances exceeding 100 meters, as well as lossless 4K resolution at 120Hz display transmission. This meets the stringent requirements of advanced autonomous driving systems and multi-screen cockpit configurations. Presently, the solution has reached production-readiness status.
