As per a report published by the Financial Times on February 1st, four insiders disclosed that Ford Motor is currently engaged in discussions with Xiaomi concerning potential cooperation. Both parties are exploring the possibility of establishing a joint venture to manufacture electric vehicles in the United States. Such a move could potentially open doors for Xiaomi's entry into the U.S. market. Nevertheless, Ford refuted the report, asserting that it is entirely baseless. It's worth noting that Ford had previously announced the discontinuation of certain mass-market models and had planned to introduce a new, cost-effective electric vehicle platform only by the year 2027.
