On January 16, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology convened a press conference to unveil the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Spent Power Batteries from New Energy Vehicles." Wang Peng, Director of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, remarked that, based on estimates from research institutions, China is on the cusp of a large-scale phase-out of power batteries. By 2030, the annual volume of spent power batteries is projected to surpass 1 million tons.
