On January 5 (local time), at the 2026 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), three prominent players—U.S.-based electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid, autonomous driving technology firm Nuro, and ride-hailing giant Uber—came together to unveil a mass-produced model specifically designed for global autonomous taxi services. As per the official announcement, last month, Nuro took the lead in initiating autonomous driving road tests in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States. These tests were conducted using engineering prototype vehicles and were closely monitored by operators. Once the vehicle successfully clears the validation stage, it is anticipated to commence production later this year at Lucid's manufacturing facility in Arizona, U.S.
