On December 30th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with three other departments, unveiled the Implementation Plan for Digital Transformation in the Automotive Sector. This plan underscores the urgency of expediting the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) across pivotal stages of automotive development. It advocates for businesses to seamlessly weave AI technology into their research and development (R&D) design, production and manufacturing, as well as operational management workflows. The strategy emphasizes the construction of large-scale models and a variety of intelligent agent applications tailored specifically for the automotive industry. Additionally, it encourages the exploration and development of vertical domain large models in areas such as software and intelligent R&D, intelligent process planning, and virtual commissioning. Simultaneously, the plan sets forth the initiative to initiate industry-wide 'Artificial Intelligence +' application campaigns. It aims to identify and showcase a selection of exemplary cases demonstrating innovative AI applications. Furthermore, the plan promotes the widespread adoption of intelligent robots in critical manufacturing processes like welding, spraying, and final assembly. The ultimate goal is to establish demonstration production lines that embody the pinnacle of intelligence within the automotive industry.
