Recently, a Besturn B70 sedan encountered a harrowing situation on the G75 Lanhai Expressway: its cruise control and brakes simultaneously failed. The car hurtled uncontrollably down the highway at a speed of 115 kilometers per hour, covering a staggering 490 kilometers before finally grinding to a halt when its fuel tank ran dry. The driver, identified as Mr. Ma, reported that the brakes were completely unresponsive and that his numerous attempts to deactivate the cruise control system proved futile. Fortunately, traffic police and road administration officials were able to safely escort him during this ordeal. Mr. Ma is now seeking a refund or a replacement vehicle from the 4S dealership, along with compensation for the emotional distress he endured. At present, the root cause of the malfunction remains undisclosed, and the manufacturer has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
