Recently, a harrowing incident unfolded on the Lanhai Expressway when a car's brakes failed due to a cruise control malfunction. The vehicle sped uncontrollably at 115 km/h for a staggering 490 kilometers until it eventually ran out of fuel. Throughout this ordeal, traffic police took the lead in guiding the vehicle, while road administration provided crucial support, culminating in a successful rescue operation. According to Mr. Ma, the driver involved, he was overcome with extreme nervousness during the incident. After the car finally came to a stop when the fuel was depleted, he was trembling uncontrollably and found himself unable to speak. The car model in question was identified as a FAW Besturn B70. Mr. Ma reported that the vehicle had been towed back to the 4S dealership following the incident, and he expressed his hope for either a refund or a replacement with a new car.
