During the Technology Day event, XPENG took the wraps off its newest humanoid robot, IRON, and announced its intention to begin mass production by the close of next year. The robot's fluid, feline-inspired movements and uncannily human-like appearance set the internet ablaze with theories suggesting a human might be concealed within. In a bid to dispel these rumors, XPENG's Chairman, He Xiaopeng, shared a raw, one-take video. Based on official data, IRON is endowed with a human-like 'brain' capable of independent thought and boasts a 'skeleton-muscle-skin' framework. Outfitted with a vast physical-world model and three Turing AI chips, it attains a high level of intelligence. Moreover, IRON comes equipped with a cutting-edge, fully solid-state battery, introduces AEB functionality tailored for indoor robot use, and builds upon the fourth law. XPENG is poised to become the pioneer in China for the mass production of sophisticated humanoid robots, with large-scale manufacturing slated to commence by the end of 2026.
