Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region John Lee delivered a new policy address at the Legislative Council today (September 17, 2025), stating that the SAR Government had established a regulatory framework for autonomous vehicles last year. This year, it will designate three areas for cross-district autonomous vehicle tests and connections with other transportation modes, aiming to accelerate the driverless and large-scale development of autonomous driving technology and promote its early commercial operation.
