Chiboub noted that Tunisia and China have already forged robust cooperative ties in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure construction. The commencement of operations by this Chinese-funded enterprise represents a significant leap forward in industrial cooperation between the two nations.
She highlighted that automotive parts manufacturing stands as a cornerstone of Tunisia's industrial landscape, with its annual output value contributing nearly 4% to Tunisia's gross domestic product. By 2024, exports in this sector had soared to 2.2 billion euros. Tunisia is committed to fostering an environment conducive to increased Chinese investment, aiming for mutual growth and prosperity.
It is reported that the automotive wiring harness factory, which has just commenced operations, was invested in and established by Jieyi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. in Ben Arous Province, Tunisia. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Wang Chao, the head of the company, stated that Chinese companies will bring in highly automated production lines and implement lean manufacturing principles to elevate local automotive parts manufacturing capabilities and industrial efficiency. Additionally, they will create numerous job opportunities and provide training for local professionals.
