Los Angeles-based startup Robomart has introduced its latest L4 autonomous delivery robot, the RM5, designed to revolutionize the economics of on-demand delivery services. Resembling a compact shuttle bus, the RM5 boasts a capacity of up to 226.8 kilograms and is equipped with 10 individually temperature-controlled compartments, enabling it to deliver multiple orders simultaneously. With a top speed of 40.2 kilometers per hour, a range of 180.2 kilometers, and a curb weight of approximately 1,000 kilograms, the RM5 is a powerful addition to the delivery landscape. Users can effortlessly place orders through the app and enjoy a flat delivery fee of $3 per order, without any hidden costs. Robomart asserts that the RM5 slashes delivery costs by 70% compared to traditional human delivery methods. The company has forged partnerships with several retailers and anticipates an official launch of the service in Austin later this year.
