Recent reports indicate that Samsung Electronics has preliminarily set a shipment target of 100 million units for its mid-range Galaxy A series smartphones, which will feature OLED screens, for the upcoming year. This figure marks a decrease of 20 million units from the initial shipment goal of 120 million units that was communicated to partners in late September. The main driver behind this adjustment is the escalating cost of memory components, a factor that also raises the possibility of Samsung Electronics further reducing its overall smartphone shipment target for the next year. Initially, Samsung Electronics had aimed to ship over 250 million smartphones next year; however, it is now in the process of revising this target, with expectations that the final shipment volume will fall short of the original plan by more than 20 million units.
