The APRIL Lab team at Zhejiang University has released the first systematic review focusing on first-person intelligence for smart glasses, establishing a comprehensive research framework. Based on first-person structured data streams, the review categorizes smart glasses hardware into eight verifiable capability axes, transforming vague product labels into quantifiable and evaluable system conditions. Above the hardware level, the team abstracts seven interdependent foundational capabilities and proposes an L0-L5 cross-capability hierarchy framework to clarify the capability boundaries corresponding to different tasks. Meanwhile, the team evaluates related research and platforms across nine real-world application scenarios, accompanied by a nine-dimensional deployment framework that includes evaluation protocols, deployment checklists, and iterative evidence ladders. The paper concludes by summarizing eight open challenges and six roadmap directions in the field, while opening relevant GitHub repositories to promote smart glasses as a comparable, deployable, and reproducibly evaluable first-person intelligence platform.
