Transsion Holdings, a dominant player in Africa’s mobile phone market, made its official debut on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company set its H-share issue price at HK$35.30, successfully raising a net amount of approximately HK$2.968 billion under the stock code 2636. As of 2025, Transsion Holdings commands around a 40% share of Africa’s smartphone market and ranks third globally in terms of shipment volume. In the first half of 2026, the company posted revenue of RMB 35.431 billion and a net profit of RMB 1.773 billion, both marking double-digit growth.
However, on its first trading day, Transsion Holdings’ stock price dipped below its issue price, hovering around HK$33.8 throughout the session. Market analysts have raised concerns over the company’s business structure in the post-smartphone era. Notably, the mobile phone business still accounted for 89.1% of the company’s total revenue in 2025, while diversified ventures—including wearable devices, home appliances, and mobile services—have yet to demonstrate sustainable growth momentum. Furthermore, the company reported a net cash outflow of RMB 5.861 billion from operating activities in the first half of the year, largely due to increased inventory stockpiling in response to rising memory prices.
