The Nintendo Switch 2 model with a replaceable battery (model number BEE-001 (-01)), originally intended only for the European market, recently obtained FCC certification from the United States, indicating its potential for global release. Previously, Nintendo had stated that this model would be limited to the European market, with no release plans announced for other regions. Additionally, the Switch 2-exclusive GameCube controller was updated in Japan's relevant certification database last month, adding the new model number BEE-021 (-01). Meanwhile, the Switch-exclusive N64 controller HAC-043 also passed Canadian wireless device certification in July, receiving approval for the model number HAC-043 (-01). Some users speculate that these devices with the added (-01) suffix may all support battery replacement functionality.
