On August 30 local time, tech journalist Mark Gurman revealed that Apple is internally developing and testing an Apple Pencil specifically for foldable iPhones, though the accessory may not launch simultaneously with the new device. The prototype stylus being tested by Apple is shorter than the iPad version to better fit the phone's size and can be attached to the side of the phone via magnets for storage and charging. Previously, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs had questioned the necessity of a stylus for phones, and this internal testing may indicate a shift in Apple's attitude toward this product form.
