Meta is taking steps to tackle the privacy loopholes present in its AI-powered smart glasses. In the past, users had the ability to obscure the LED indicator light located at the front of the glasses' frame once they initiated recording. This enabled them to surreptitiously take photos of others without their knowledge. Alex Himel, the Vice President of Meta's Augmented Reality Business, announced that following the update, should the system detect any obstruction of the indicator light during the recording process, the camera will promptly cease functioning.
