US private equity firm DigitalBridge Group, which is being acquired by SoftBank Group, will acquire one of Australia's largest smart meter service providers from Ausgrid Group. Currently, market demand for infrastructure related to Australia's energy transition is on the rise. DigitalBridge announced in a statement that an investment entity it manages has reached an agreement to acquire the independently operated PLUS ES business within Ausgrid Group. This business primarily provides metering and data services to retail electricity companies, utility companies, and grid operators, managing approximately 2 million meters across the National Electricity Market.
