Apple has formally declared that it will host its autumn new product unveiling, themed ‘Illuminate a New Chapter, Shine Brightly,’ at 1 a.m. Beijing Time on September 10. The focal points of this event are Apple’s inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Ultra, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. Insider reports indicate that the iPhone Ultra has run into snags during the production scale-up phase, which may lead to restricted stock levels. The domestic supply allocation might fall short of that of Huawei’s triple-folding smartphone, possibly sparking a supply crunch during the initial sales rush. Should stock quantities fall short of projections, the model’s market launch could be postponed, echoing the previous delay of the iPhone X due to production hitches. The iPhone Ultra boasts a broad-folding configuration, featuring an external screen measuring around 5.5 inches and an internal screen of roughly 7.6 inches. It forgoes Face ID technology, opting instead for side-mounted Touch ID, and is outfitted with a dual rear camera array that omits a telephoto lens. The device will be propelled by a cutting-edge 2nm chip, the A20 Pro, and will be paired with 12GB of memory. With a starting price tag surpassing $2,000, it is poised to become the priciest iPhone ever. Moreover, the event is also anticipated to showcase the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, Apple TV 4K, an updated iteration of the HomePod mini, and the Home Hub.
