American adults, by and large, exhibit a notably low inclination towards purchasing foldable iPhones. A striking 75% of the respondents have unequivocally voiced their lack of interest, and this indifference spans across all age demographics. Nevertheless, there remains a segment, roughly a quarter of the respondents, who are open to the concept.
Price emerges as a pivotal determinant in shaping purchasing intentions. On average, American adults are only prepared to shell out $781 for a foldable iPhone—a figure that pales in comparison to the base price of the standard iPhone 17. Moreover, price acceptance varies among different age groups, with younger individuals showing a relatively higher tolerance for steeper prices.
However, market projections indicate that Apple's inaugural foldable iPhone is expected to be priced at over $2,000, a figure that vastly outstrips consumer expectations. Historically, while Apple has hiked prices for products like the Mac and iPad, the iPhone lineup has, thus far, remained untouched by such increases.
