Citing information from Nikkei Asia, Google has informed its suppliers of its strategic decision to relocate all Pixel smartphone production away from China, with the transition set to commence in 2027. This move is part of Google's broader initiative to enhance its manufacturing footprint, with a particular emphasis on Vietnam and India, as it aims to increase its smartphone shipments. Earlier, Google had outlined plans to commence the research, development, and manufacturing of its premium Pixel series smartphones in Vietnam in 2026. This would encompass flagship models like the Pixel, Pixel Pro, and Pixel Fold. Meanwhile, the research and development activities for the entry-level Pixel A series were intended to continue in China.
