Apple has successfully negotiated with Samsung Display and LG Display to slash the supply prices of OLED panels for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series. This strategic move aims to mitigate the cost pressures stemming from escalating memory chip prices, and initial negotiations have borne fruit. The targeted purchase price for the iPhone 18 Pro Max panel now hovers around $70, with industry insiders projecting a potential further drop to approximately $66.5. This represents a significant markdown from the $110 to $120 price range seen with the iPhone 17 Pro Max panels.

To enhance energy efficiency, the panels in this series will incorporate M16 luminescent materials and LTPO+ technology. Both Samsung Display and LG Display have commenced production, navigating the increased technical complexity while striving to drive down manufacturing costs. Meanwhile, the market speculates that the starting prices for the iPhone 18 Pro series in the U.S. market could see a hike of $200 to $300, possibly reaching up to $1,399 and $1,499. However, it's important to note that these figures remain predictions and are not confirmed by official sources.
