On August 14, LG Innotek published its semi-annual financial report, which showed that its sales to a single major customer soared to KRW 8.84 trillion (approximately USD 6.24 billion) in the first half of this year, setting a new record for first-half sales to a single customer. These sales accounted for more than 10% of LG Innotek’s total sales during the same period, covering business in both the optical and packaging sectors. Although LG Innotek did not reveal the identity of this customer, an analysis of the sales volume and business structure strongly suggests that the customer is likely Apple. LG Innotek is a key supplier of essential components for Apple’s iPhones, including camera modules and substrates.
