According to ChannelNews, Apple’s inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Ultra, is currently constrained by limited production capacity in its early stages, attributed to challenges in achieving high mass production yields and shortages in component supply. To address these issues, Apple has opted for a phased regional rollout plan, allocating initial inventory primarily to the US market. Consequently, regions such as Australia will not have immediate access to readily available stock during the initial launch phase. This approach mirrors Apple’s previous strategy with the Vision Pro, which also saw a US-exclusive debut. Following its initial US release, the iPhone Ultra is expected to become available in other key markets after a delay of two to three months. The device boasts a 4:3 aspect ratio folding design, featuring a 7.76-inch inner display when unfolded and a 5.49-inch outer screen. Notably, it omits the Dynamic Island design, maintaining a lightweight profile under 250 grams and a slim form factor of just 4.8 millimeters.
