The escalating costs of memory chips have significantly elevated the production expenses for iPhones. To counteract this, Apple is exerting pressure on its display panel suppliers, urging them to slash the prices for screen procurement. On July 24, news from the industry supply chain disclosed that Apple has established a target procurement price of around $70 for the OLED panels of the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max. Based on industry projections, the average price of panels currently being supplied by Samsung Display and LG Display for this particular model stands at just $66.5. In fact, the actual supply price is even lower than Apple's set target, marking a substantial decrease of approximately 20% when compared to the previous generation's product.
