On July 23, 2026, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce made an official announcement: the city would incorporate 10 categories of smart products into its subsidy initiative for the old-for-new consumer goods trade-in program. The newly added products encompass a wide range of smart devices, including smart door locks, smart cameras, smart robotic vacuum cleaners (which also cover smart floor washers and smart vacuum cleaners), smart toilets (including smart toilet seats), digital cameras (action cameras included), smart headphones, whole-house smart hubs (comprising smart home servers and smart gateways), smart beds (smart mattresses included), smart electric wheelchairs, and embodied AI robots (encompassing companion robots, robot dogs, exoskeleton robots, and elderly care robots).

This subsidy is specifically designed for individual consumers. It offers an immediate 15% deduction from the final sales price of the product, after all applicable discounts have been factored in. However, the subsidy for each item is capped at RMB 1,500. Additionally, each consumer is eligible for only one subsidy per product category.

In terms of product requirements, all eligible items must boast smart functionalities and adhere to the unified national standard coding system. For products related to energy or water efficiency, they must meet Grade 1 standards to qualify for the subsidy.

To participate in the program, consumers are required to undergo real-name authentication and obtain a voucher code through the 'Jingtong' platform. This voucher code can then be directly redeemed when making purchases from participating businesses, either online or offline.

The subsidy program has taken effect immediately upon announcement and will remain in operation until the allocated funds are fully utilized.
