Toyota-backed Japanese startup SkyDrive announced that its SD-05 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) has successfully completed a stable flight test at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour (approximately 62 miles per hour). This test is regarded as a significant step forward in the commercialization of the wingless multi-rotor air taxi, providing crucial data for the type certification by Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) and bringing the goal of commercial operations by 2028 closer to reality.
