Plagued by a scarcity of memory supply and escalating prices, the PC industry is undergoing an uncommon regression, prompting numerous manufacturers to ramp up their production investment in DDR4 memory and older-generation motherboards. Based on reports from Computex Taipei 2026, certain platform vendors, which had previously made a complete switch to DDR5, have now commenced reinstating or even augmenting their support for DDR4 and its compatible platforms, in a bid to satisfy the market's demand for mature and reliable platforms.
