Based on the most recent supply chain survey conducted by well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple's strategic blueprint for head-mounted devices has seen substantial revisions. John Ternus, the soon-to-be CEO, has endorsed this strategic pivot, halting the progression of future Vision Pro models and redirecting resources towards smart glasses with broader mass-market appeal. As per Kuo's revealed roadmap, Apple is now vigorously pursuing the development of just two smart glasses categories: AR/XR smart glasses, outfitted with optical waveguide displays, have been pushed back to a 2029 launch; whereas AI glasses devoid of displays, akin to Ray-Ban Meta, are still slated for a 2027 release as initially planned.
