From May 1st onward, the mandatory national standard titled "Real-Name Registration and Activation Requirements for Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicles," established by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), will come into full force. This regulation stipulates that all civil drones operating outdoors across China must undergo real-name registration and activation processes. This measure ensures that every drone is equipped with a traceable electronic identity, enhancing oversight and accountability. The registration details encompass essential information such as the owner's identity, product model, serial number, and intended use. Drones that fail to comply with these procedures will be subject to technical restrictions, rendering them unable to take flight. This standard applies uniformly to both commercially manufactured drones and those assembled by individuals, facilitating comprehensive supervision throughout the entire lifecycle of the drones—from production to operation. By doing so, it aims to deter unauthorized flights and uphold public safety and airspace order.
