During the first quarter of this year, the electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size witnessed a notable 13.6% year-on-year surge in its added value. This growth rate surpassed that of both the broader industrial sector and the high-tech manufacturing industry over the same timeframe.
Breaking it down further, the industry's added value climbed by 12.5% year-on-year in March alone. When examining key product categories, mobile phone production totaled 345 million units, reflecting a marginal uptick of 0.6%. Smartphone production, on the other hand, fared better, reaching 298 million units and marking a 6.9% increase.
In contrast, microcomputer device production experienced a downturn, with 72.02 million units produced, representing an 8.4% decline. However, the production of integrated circuits soared, hitting 127.2 billion units and achieving a remarkable 24.3% year-on-year growth.
