Based on the most recent insights from market research company TrendForce, Apple is gearing up to introduce a 12.9-inch MacBook in the spring season of 2026. This new offering is strategically positioned to cater to the entry-level to mid-range market segments, with a strong emphasis on delivering excellent value for money.

At the heart of this MacBook will be the A18 Pro chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16 Pro. This chipset boasts a 6-core CPU, a 6-core GPU, and a 16-core neural engine, ensuring performance on par with the M1 chip. While memory capacity might be capped at 8GB, storage options will commence at 256GB, sufficient for seamless daily computing tasks.

The display will feature a 12.9-inch LCD panel, though it won't support high refresh rates. Leveraging the energy-efficient nature of the A-series chips, the MacBook will adopt a fanless design, promising an impressive video playback battery life of 15 to 18 hours.

Regarding connectivity, since the A18 Pro chip lacks Thunderbolt support, the device will be equipped with a standard USB-C port. The design of this MacBook takes cues from the discontinued 12-inch MacBook, prioritizing ultra-thinness and portability. It will be available in a variety of vibrant colors, including silver, blue, pink, and yellow.

In the United States, the starting price for this new MacBook is anticipated to fall within the range of $599 to $899, which roughly translates to RMB 4,185 to 6,282.
