BOE is poised to emerge as the global frontrunner in achieving mass production of the 8.6th-generation (G8.6) OLED production line. The company has outlined plans to commence production of 14-inch IT OLED panels at its G8.6 facility located in Chengdu High-tech Zone, starting from May of the following year. These panels will primarily cater to the laptop needs of ASUS and Acer. Additionally, this production line is also slated to manufacture display panels for smartphones. The G8.6 OLED production line offers significant benefits, including a larger substrate area and cost efficiency. Notably, apart from LG Display, all other major global OLED manufacturers have invested in this domain. Presently, BOE and Samsung Display are making rapid strides in their construction efforts, with Samsung Display projected to initiate mass production between the end of the second quarter and the third quarter of 2026.
