Microsoft continues to upgrade the Notepad functionality in Windows 11. Following the addition of rich text format support (such as bold, italic, and underline) earlier this year, the latest version 11.2510.6.0 officially introduces native table functionality. Users can quickly insert tables via the 'Table' button in the formatting toolbar or using Markdown syntax (e.g., '/Column 1/Column 2/'), and support adding or deleting rows and columns through the right-click menu or the top toolbar. This update also optimizes the AI tool experience, adopting a 'streaming response' mechanism to present content generation word by word in real time, enhancing interaction efficiency. However, the streaming response for the AI rewrite feature is currently limited to Copilot+ PC devices and requires a Microsoft account login. The new version of Notepad is gradually being rolled out to testers in the Dev and Canary channels, with an expected full release to all official users in the coming weeks.
