On October 22, 2025, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) officially issued its final ruling, identifying Apple Inc. and Google as having strategic market positions in the mobile platform sector. The ruling covers the mobile operating systems, native app distribution services, as well as mobile browser and browser engine businesses of the two companies. The CMA stated that it had not found any illegal conduct by the two companies and would not immediately make any demands. This move aims to provide a basis for considering subsequent intervention measures to ensure open and effective competition in the mobile platform sector.
