The German Federal Cartel Office has officially launched an investigation into Temu, a Chinese discount e-commerce giant, over concerns that it may be meddling with merchant pricing practices. The probe aims to shed light on the specific terms and conditions that Temu imposes on suppliers who depend on its platform to market and sell their products. Prior to this, Temu had already caught the eye of the European Commission due to a range of issues, including product compliance, consumer safety, and instances of misleading advertising. The current investigation will zero in on Temu's pricing mechanisms and how they affect its suppliers.
