Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, has released a video to generate buzz around his upcoming annual speech. In the video, he also clarified why this year's speech is being held later than in previous years. Originally, the plan was to have the speech take place in June, aligning it with the launch event for the Xiaomi YU7. However, because the launch event was packed with an abundance of content and had a longer-than-expected runtime, the decision was made to postpone the speech to September. This new timing will coincide with the launch event for Xiaomi's annual flagship series, the Xiaomi 17.
Lei Jun mentioned that he was actually quite pleased when he heard about the postponement. He saw it as an opportunity to capitalize on the increased attention and traffic that the Xiaomi 17 launch would bring.
