A collaborative research effort by a team from Northwest A&F University, alongside the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other esteemed institutions, has culminated in the creation of the world's first comprehensive gene map for wheat resistance to stripe rust. This groundbreaking achievement has also led to the establishment of a core resource library comprising "comprehensive resistance sources" for wheat stripe rust. This significant research offers a "genetic roadmap" for wheat breeding and positions China at the forefront of wheat disease prevention and control globally. The pioneering findings have been featured in Nature Genetics.
