On October 22, 2026, during the Hangzhou Physical AI Conference, Unitree Technology’s latest H2-X humanoid robot, which had just been launched, encountered a balance issue and toppled sideways amidst a side flip demonstration. This mishap caused one of its robotic lower legs to become detached. This particular robot is mainly engineered for security and emergency rescue operations. Prior official promotions had underscored its remarkable capabilities, such as denting car doors, hoisting automobiles, executing flips from a 4-meter-high platform, and boasting a maximum operational endurance of around 8 hours. As of now, Unitree Technology has not issued any statement to elucidate the cause of this incident.
