On October 20, China Energy Engineering Group unveiled the initiation of the second phase of the monumental "Qingqing No.1" Songyuan Project. This project, heralded as the world's largest integrated endeavor in green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production, is situated in Songyuan, Jilin. Once fully operational, the project is poised to attain an impressive annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of green ammonia. This milestone will mark China's transition from the demonstration and verification phase to the commercial and large-scale production phase in the wind-solar coupled green hydrogen-to-green ammonia industry.
The second phase of this ambitious project entails a substantial investment of 10.828 billion yuan. It encompasses a robust infrastructure, including 1,600 megawatts of wind and solar power generation capabilities, energy storage systems, and two sizable green flexible ammonia synthesis units. These components are anticipated to yield an annual production of 56,000 tons of green hydrogen and 400,000 tons of green ammonia, further solidifying China's leadership in sustainable energy solutions.
