On October 20th, Panasonic Holdings unveiled its decision to expedite the large-scale mass production of glass-type perovskite solar cells. The original plan was to initiate production in the fiscal year 2030, but now it has been rescheduled to April 2029. The production facility will be set up in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Notably, the company had already commenced the sales of pre-mass-production products back in September 2026. At present, these products are being manufactured at the R&D center located in Moriguchi City, Osaka Prefecture. Through customer applications, the company is gathering valuable experience in installation and operation.
