The company is also actively engaging in discussions with the manufacturer, underscoring the seriousness with which it is treating this issue. The move comes in the wake of reports from some customers who discovered unauthorized cables and cellular modules in Ledger wallets they had purchased from select MediaMarkt outlets. These illicit components had the potential to steal users' mnemonic phrases—a critical component of cryptocurrency wallet security—via cellular networks. The controversy initially arose from Ledger's investigation into its Southeast Asian distributor, CryptoBilis, but has since escalated to encompass regions in Europe and Singapore as well.
