On September 30, Fervo Energy, a geothermal energy firm headquartered in the United States, revealed that its Cape Station power plant had commenced selling electricity to the grid a day earlier than initially planned. The project was successfully synchronized with the grid roughly a week prior. Presently, the operational part is the first segment of a future 100-megawatt power plant, making up around one-third of the entire project. With this achievement, Fervo has emerged as the first enhanced geothermal enterprise to reach this crucial commercialization benchmark.
