On September 21, the 2026 China Radio Conference commenced in the Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province. Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced plans to refine the allocation of radio spectrum resources, aiming to fully harness their pivotal role in driving technological innovation in radio and supporting industrial development, thereby consolidating the foundation for sustained industrial growth. The official underscored the necessity for scientific planning, precise resource provision, rational development strategies, and efficient utilization of spectrum resources to unlock their vast potential and propel the construction of a modern industrial system.

Looking ahead, efforts will be concentrated on three key areas: firstly, strengthening innovation platforms to foster integrated development between technological advancements in radio and industrial innovation; secondly, enhancing governance efficiency through the refinement of laws, regulations, and institutional standards, bolstering monitoring capabilities and interference investigations, and cracking down on illegal frequency usage and unauthorized station setups; and thirdly, deepening international cooperation, exemplified by successfully hosting events such as the International Telecommunication Union’s 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference.
