On April 1, 2025, Unitree Robotics made waves in the robotics industry by unveiling the Dex5 dexterous hand. This remarkable creation is designed in a 1:1 ratio to mimic the size of a genuine human hand. It boasts an impressive 20 degrees of freedom, which is a combination of 16 actively controlled and 4 passively controlled movements. With 22 joints that allow for seamless reverse driving, this hand can perform intricate and delicate tasks with ease. Each joint is fortified with built-in protection against extreme impact torque, ensuring durability and safety. Moreover, a single Dex5-S hand can house up to 94 sensitive points, enabling it to sense and respond to its environment with remarkable precision.
